Thank you Angela. A wonderfully well written piece. I can't help but feel that many regions will need to apply for "exceptions" to cover deficit in maternity care providers - you may soon be getting a call asking you to step back in. Covid-19 will inevitably spread in your region and you may be able to support your vaccinated colleagues and their clients by providing remote antenatal and postnatal consults and earn a bit of income that way. In the meantime, I hope you and your family are able to survive and pay your essential bills. Unfortunately at this stage, it seems that those with power and influence in the midwifery profession, dhbs and government are putting their faith in a series of innoculations and turning a blind eye to the daily data that shows their lack of efficacy, not to mention being in complete denial about their potential harms. It feels as though we are moving further and further away from the wholism and feminism that brought us the H&D Consumer Ac & its code of rights, midwifery autonomy, mainstreamed home birth, the partnership between women and their midwives, continuity of midwifery care etc etc - it could be a long, rough road back.

Thank you. I support you and all mandated workers. It is a great sacrifice but at least you have retained your health which can't be said for a lot of poor people who have died or are suffering severe adverse effects from the Pfizer vaccine. Better times are coming and they will be begging you to return I'm sure.

Thank you Angela. Your scorpion speaks for thousands of NZers who are voiceless in this society.
